How the Provider Course works:
The provider course involves 10 hours of instruction; 7 hours of lecture followed by 3 hours of practical stations and driving range stations.
The agenda is split into 3 modules; the pre-course, the course and the post-course. The pre-course involves reading the participant manual, reviewing the handouts of the practical and driving range stations and completing the pre-test. The course involves the student actively participating, completing and passing the lecture, final written exam and the hands-on stations. The post-course involves the student being evaluated by a supervisor while performing their operator skills at their agency using our “on-the-job performance objectives and evaluations”.
The course is designed to be taught by authorized T.E.A.M. instructors at an EMS agency. This allows for training on the emergency vehicle the student is most likely to use and be most familiar with. T.E.A.M. instructors are independent contractors and may charge a course fee for instructing as all provider courses are arranged through the instructor.
The student purchases their course materials from T.E.A.M. on a CD for only $60.00 (price subject to change without notice). The student prints off their own copy of course materials which substantially reduces the cost of the provider course. Upon successful course completion, 9 pre-approved Michigan EMS ceu’s are awarded including 3 practical credits.
